A Child of Promise 2016

Budded on Earth to Bloom in Heaven18 years ago, I found out that my unborn son, Tommy, had passed away following an in-utero procedure to correct a life-threatening condition called Posterior Urethral Valves. Labor was begun and he was delivered in the wee hours of the morning on September 15, 1998.

This afternoon, in my garage, I noticed a butterfly sitting on the window of the garage door.  Carefully I walked over toward it to take a picture.  Still more carefully I reached my finger out to see if it would come to me.  It did.  And five minutes later, it perched on my 9 year old son’s finger as well.

When I was pregnant with Tommy and after he was born, I would go to the Butterfly House in Chesterfield, Missouri to have some time of peace and reflection.

The phrase on Tommy’s memorial stone is “Budded on Earth to Bloom in Heaven.”

Two years ago, in his honor, I successfully published my first book, titled A Child of Promise. A Child of Promise is both a journal and a study of pertinent scriptures for expectant parents who have learned their unborn child has a poor or fatal prognosis.

And the picture I chose for the cover of the book is a butterfly resting on a rosebud.

acopbookcoverGod knows me.  He knows my name.  He knows my every anxious thought.  He created me on purpose and He created my son on purpose.  I am thankful to have a loving Father who speaks in the still small voice of a butterfly on a hurting mama’s finger in her garage.

I would appreciate you sharing the information and praying for the word to get out about this resource. Carrying a baby when you know something is wrong is a very lonely journey.
